The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
This is a different kind of zombie book. Melanie is on a military base school, where the students are brought into their classroom by soldiers and are strapped into their chairs. They are hungries (zombies). But Melanie is a different type of zombie and doesn't want to eat her teacher Ms. Justineau, of whom she is very fond. This book started slowly for me but was worth it in the end. I enjoyed it.
