Moo by Sharon Creech
Creech has another hit with Moo which will be a great read for middle school readers. Luke and Reena's family moves to Maine and the siblings need to adjust a bit to the farm animals and country life they encounter. They are asked by their parents to help a nearby elderly woman who has Zora, a stubborn cow, along with a pig, a cat and a snake. The siblings end up liking their new home more than they thought they would.
