Pride and Prejudice and Zombie (4/5)
Jane Austen meets Night of the Living Dead. Austen's text is interspersed with zombie killing scenes. The Bennet girls and Mr. Darcy are all zombie hunters. Good, tongue-in-cheek humor. A little slow at times (how many zombie killings can one book need?) but overall a fun read. I can see why some schools are putting this on their required summer reading list for HS students before studying Austen's book during the school year. This is definitely more accessible.

ReplyDeleteI think you'll like it and can put it in the school library. Let me know what you think of it when/if you read it.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun, I have to agree, but I just can't see it on a required reading list.
ReplyDeleteI am very interested in reading this one. Thanks for the review.-Christine
ReplyDeleteChristine--Let me know what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteAs for required reading, some schools are having students read this over the summer and then doing the Austen version during the school year. This makes Austen a little more accessible to students.
